Mini Company Winners

Budding young entrpreneurs from St. Patricks had the opportunity to showcase their mini-companies at the annual Christmas trade fair at Blackpool Shopping Centre as part of the Schools enterprise Awards.

The SEA are the biggest enterprise awards for students in Ireland, helping students to grasp real-life skills associated with running a business, including working as part of a team, managing production and finances, organising a sales and marketing campaign and liasing directly with customers, judges and the media.

St. Patricks had five teams in action, with 2 first year teams entering the Junior category.

Krazy Kandles were successful on the day claiming the Best overall group in the Junior category. The group sold out on the day and made plenty profit!

Two out of three Transition year groups were successful on the day with OBI the Obesity bear winning an award for Best Innovation. They are selling a booklet about Obi a little bear who breaks his swing as he is not eating properly. Obi learns about the food and excercise pyramid and adapts a healthier lifestyle as a result he makes a new friend and fits into his swing. The booklet comes with a little OBI teddy.

One Drop Rewards won Best Overall Group in the Senior Catergory.

This means this group ticked all the boxes for the judges on the day. The areas they excelled in included Best stand, Sales, Innovation and Team Spirit. This is a fantastic achievement.

Both groups are preparing for the next round of the Student Enterprise Programme happening in U.C.C. in early March. Fingers crossed for all involved.
