Principal’s Message

Welcome to the website of St Patrick’s College Cork. The school has been in existence since 1958 and caters for girls. The college shares a campus with St Patrick’s infants school, St Patrick’s Girls Primary and St Patrick’s Boys Primary, which makes the transition from primary to post-primary school much easier on the girls as they are very familiar with the school when the time comes to transfer. The college also serves other primary schools in the area including Scoil Mhuire Banrion and St Brendan’s Girls Primary as well as primary schools in a wide catchment area that includes Montenotte, Mayfield, Ballyvolane, The Glen, Glanmire, White’s Cross and Carrignavar. The College has all that parents expect of a modern secondary school including:

  • 2 Science Labs with interactive whiteboards
  • 2 Modern Computer rooms
  • 2 Home Economics Rooms
  • A Breakfast Room
  • Hair and Beauty Treatment facilities
  • A Geography Room
  • An Art Room
  • A Specialised English Room
  • A Well Stocked Library
  • Timetabled Access to The Glen Sports Centre for PE
  • A Guidance Room
  • A Learning Support Room
  • All classrooms are equipped with multimedia technology - wifi internet access with computer projectors

Most importantly, the college has committed and experienced teachers, many of whom go the extra mile for their students, whether through meeting students before class or arranging extra classes as the Leaving Cert and Junior Cert approach. As a result, the College enjoys excellent results from its students - in August 2014, more than half of the Leaving Cert class gained entry to UCC and CIT. Many of the other girls began courses in other third level colleges. Three of the Leaving Cert Class gained 500 points or more.

The College is blessed to have very good relationships with the parents of the girls and has an active Friends and Parent’s Association, which encourages involvement of not only parents but also past pupils. As the College has been around a long time, we have many past pupils all over Cork and Ireland. Take the time to explore the website and watch a video about life in St Patrick’s College.
