About St Patrick's College

St Patrick's College Cork is a co-educational and inclusive Catholic secondary school located on the St Patrick's Campus in Gardiner's Hill, Cork. The school has strong links with its campus primary schools — St Patrick's Girls and St Patrick's Boys — and the primary schools in Montenotte, The Glen, Mayfield, Ballyvolane and Glanmire.

The school offers the Junior Cycle, Transition Year, Leaving Certificate and LCA programmes and caters for Autistic students through dedicated special classes. St Patrick's College is a Diocesan secondary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Cork and Ross, managed by a Board of Management together with the Principal and Deputy Principal.

Our Campus

St Patrick's College is situated on the St Patrick's Campus on Gardiner's Hill, sharing the site with St Patrick's Infants, St Patrick's Boys Primary, and St Patrick's Girls Primary schools — a unique and vibrant community of schools in the heart of Cork city.

The main entrance is from Gardiner's Hill, with pedestrian access also available from the Ballyhooly Road. Eircode: T23 HX04. Bus routes 207 and 208 serve the campus.

Findings from our most recent Whole School Evaluation by the Department of Education Inspectorate.

The quality of support and care for students in St Patrick's is very good.

Teacher-student relationships are very positive.

The quality of learning during lessons is very good overall with outstanding practices observed.

All classrooms are safe spaces where students are comfortable asking questions and offering opinions.

All teachers had high expectations for all students. Students achieved intended outcomes and displayed high levels of engagement and interest.

Student leadership is promoted and their views are sought and valued, with student council members being invited periodically to address the Board of Management.

Teachers feel trusted and supported, demonstrate high levels of commitment and manage work efficiently and effectively.

The board of management is solution focused and guided in its decision making by the best interests of the students.

Senior leadership's approachability, accessibility and openness to new ideas promotes the development of the school.

Communication is highly effective across the school.

The TY & LCA programmes are both well coordinated.

Very good use was made of additional resources to support learning, including video clips and digital presentations.
