History in St Patrick’s College

History is compulsory for all students at St Patricks College to Junior Certificate level. A History module is available to all Transition Year students. It is one of a range of many subjects taken at Leaving Certificate level where it has become a popular choice since the introduction of the Revised Syllabus in 2006. Students of History develop a wide range of skills as well as an appreciation of their own heritage. The study of History offers a wide range of career options such as Law, Education, Civil Service and Media. Watch a Horrible Histories Video on the history of books here
